Introducing: Music Production with Phil Allen
Same kind of miking technique. A couple inches in, a couple inches out. Tambourine can be your best friend or your worst enemy. It’s a very loud, very annoying instrument. I mean, obviously, if this was an AC/DC song, we’d be spending a lot more time working on specific guitar parts and stuff like that, but what he’s doing now is adding textures to the song.
So the shorter scale makes it one, a little bit easier to play, but it gives it a little more of a woody sound. I’ve never used this particular guitar and this particular microphone in combination of each other, so what I’m going to do now is find a good mic placement for it.
