Why I Opened a Sample Pack Store
I honestly have no idea.
I just kind of did it on a whim.
But to be fair, that’s how The Pro Audio Files started — eight years ago I wanted a platform to promote Quiztones (also a whim), so I threw up a WordPress theme and solicited writers on Gearslutz. It’s definitely evolved since then … I hope?
I find the best way to build anything is to take immediate action when inspiration strikes. If you wait, your mind will try to sabotage it to keep you in your comfort zone. Like Jack Canfield says: Ready, Fire, Aim.
But back to Sample Supply …
I launched it because a producer I respect approached me looking to sell a couple sample packs outright. I had no idea what I would do with them, but in a past life I was a drummer who made beats, so I said yes, took a week, ate a bunch of bad Chinese food, littered my apartment with sunflower seeds and sacrificed my health once again to create something out of nothing.
I don’t really know what the site will become, but I can say that since launching it, exciting opportunities have popped up to work with some great producers to help them release and promote new sample packs. (Sidenote: are you that producer? Hit me up.)
Anyway, we appreciate your support in helping us make it a great launch week, and if you need any sample supply, keep an eye on Sample Supply.
P.S. If you want to learn more about the inner workings of The Pro Audio Files, I was recently a guest on the Sendowl podcast and pretty much tell all. Personally, I’m avoiding listening to it because I think I was borderline incoherent from anxiety.
